Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä (/fjɪx/ /xrɑ/ [blunt] [wage; salary]) is a temperate Town located in the Vyairäftest Principality of the City-state of Yastas.

The name Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä is derived from the Gnollish language, as Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä was founded by Khêj vyim Tæ̝Lfilf, who was culturaly Gnollish.

Climate

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä has a yearly average temperature of -2°C (29°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 22°C (71°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool -27°C (-16°F). Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä receives an average of 210 cm/y (82 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3978 m (13051 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä was founded durring the early 12th century in spring of the year 1121, by Khêj vyim Tæ̝Lfilf. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Khêj vyim Tæ̝Lfilf.

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä is was constructed arround several narrow paverstone mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä's robustly designed timber walls are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.

Civic Infrastructure

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä's parks.

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä.

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Cultural Notes

Two or more groups of citizens within Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä hate each other. Their neighbors or the local law have kept things from too-overt violence, but members of the groups will constantly interfere with their rivals and cause whatever misery they can get away with. This hate may spring from recent events, or it may be an inherited spite from old wrongs.

Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä lost 226 people, 286 livestock, and 94 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 55, when members of Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä's militia enacted an operation to fortify a particular production site. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the production site, which ended in defeat for Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Mäpt Gæ̈päpi-kérä's bards, historians, and legend keepers.

History
